De Zwaluw

De Zwaluw

A Mothership / MAUC joint

De Zwaluw is a striking lookout tower at Windpark Streepland in Zevenbergschen Hoek. Situated between the A16 motorway and Lage Zwaluwe station, it looks out over one of the park’s three large wind turbines. The tower makes the power of wind energy almost physically tangible and gives the energy transition a clear, memorable symbol.

The concept was created by Studio Jeroen Everaert and designed by Sander Boer (MAUC). The tower sits by the edge of a body of water shaped like the tower’s own shadow. Climbing up, you feel the wind at height and look out toward a turbine that generates electricity for around 5,000 households.

Mothership further developed the project and handled the participation process, delivery, and project management. In collaboration with Wilwy, Palte, Tankens, MAUC, and Carl Stahl, a strong landmark was built where engineering, art, and sustainability meet. De Zwaluw was commissioned by Windpark Streepland (Windunie, Greenchoice, and Meewind).
