Sunshine Childhood Project
A Mothership/MAUC joint

Sunshine Childhood is a large-scale tourism development in Chongqing, China. Across more than 2,500 hectares of mountainous landscape, a theme park is being developed where nature, culture, ecology, and imagination come together, created for children and families.

Within this imaginative park, the Amsterdam concept becomes the regal landmark: a contemporary nod to the Royal Palace on Dam Square. Part of the façade is opened up like a dollhouse, so you can instantly see how inside and outside blend into one. The classical look gets an extra layer through interactive technology and playful details. Outside, a monumental water staircase creates refreshing play during the day. In the evening, that same staircase turns into seating for open-air performances. It’s a clear example of how Sunshine Childhood brings fantasy and heritage together in an approachable, playful way.
